My role varies based on my placement and my company is commercially sensitive so I can't comment but I get a range of different responsibilities to varying levels.

Working in a manufacturing environment, involved in design, analysis, technical queries, as well documentation and ensuring quality is maintained.

Scheduling, problem solving, working collaboratively, attending priority setting meetings, being responsible for items flowing through production, managing stakeholders, creating business cases, identifying areas for improvement.

Daily tasks vary depending on what placement I am in. However the goal of each placement is to learn about what happens and what the responsibilities are in that area, and then gain the knowledge and skills to assist the teams in their daily tasks.

I carry out day-to-day engineering tasks, mainly focused around welding. This includes things such as cutting and preparing metal, as well as the actual welding process itself.

at the moment we are tasked with building the new welding apprentice school so usually we get set jobs such as fabricating bits like material racking or jobs such as painting the floor and cleaning.
