Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
In my role as a Space Systems Engineering Degree Apprentice at Babcock, I split my time between studying for a Space Systems Engineering degree and working within Babcock’s engineering teams. Day‑to‑day, I support real engineering tasks that contribute to the maintenance and development of satellite communications systems. My work includes gaining experience across different engineering disciplines through structured rotations. This allows me to apply academic learning directly to real-world space engineering projects, while building strong systems engineering fundamentals.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Most extra curriculars are based near Bristol as this is where Babcock Graduates are usually located. There is, for example a rugby and climbing team and, as an apprentice, social events will often be organised for you (e.g. paintball).
