Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Liaising and communicating with customer in relation to Engineering and creating technical documentation.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Almost all my knowledge has been learnt on the job from scratch as previous experience had no relevance to the job that I am currently performing with all colleagues friendly and happy to teach.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The first year of the program is almost entirely college/uni based within a workshop environment which I personally found to be rather hard as there was not a defined structure due to the college itself and communication between my company and college. This experience is the complete opposite once starting physical real work as actual work is structured properly and there is more management of tasks and managers ensure you are always learning towards your ksb's or completing relevant work.
1st year 3/5.
2nd year 5/5.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
100% communication with all the managers and multiple departments I work within.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
Given plenty of time off, (1 whole working day a week) and extra time off when asked to finish HNC.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
For me personally not a lot as I use very little skills from my HNC because of the role I have chosen within the company, for most people doing my course it would be very beneficial.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Not for apprentices, however as a whole for the company, plenty of extra curriculum activities and advertised.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Babcock International Group to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I have recommended Babcock to many friends and helped them with their applications as I have a very flexible work schedule where I can work from home without having to ask or in the office and I can start work between 6am-10am so have plenty of flexibility. I am also apart of the SWAAN network which helps people apply for apprentices within the South West and more specifically Babcock.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Babcock International Group?
Read up on the company prior to applying learning all the information on the job that you are applying for and the history of the company.
Look up the Babcock principles as this is what everyone is judged on when it comes to the interviews. This can be found on the site and remain confident and friendly.
