Primary Purpose of the Job

The Business Controlling Undergraduate will have the opportunity to work within the Business controlling team, as part of the wider Controlling, Treasury & Direct Banking function. The Business Controlling Undergraduate will work to support profitability growth, increase margin and drive business development across both our Retail and Fleet customer portfolios.

Reporting into the Business Controller, this role will support work from across all areas of the Controlling, Treasury & Direct Banking function to help achieve the business objectives, centred on driving sales and increasing the profitability, all whilst developing the foundation skills required to become a successful corporate operator. This role presents an interesting challenge in an ever-evolving landscape!

Main Responsibilities

• Design and develop scheduled and ad hoc reporting on profit and performance, inc. month-end activities
• Update and analyse reports and processes used to drive decision making across the business
• Aid with the creation of business cases and growth plans to improve business performance
• Conduct data collation, interrogation and analysis on specified datasets within the Contract Hire, Finance Lease, Corporate and Value Added Products areas in both Retail and Fleet
• Support the Business Controller to track, review and evaluate business channel profitability on a quarterly basis
• Attend meetings with subject matter experts from across the business to create/update procedures
• Carry out the auditing, reconciliation and invoicing of Tactical investments.

Education, Training and Experience

• Studying towards a Business/Economics/Finance/Accounting related degree
• Be able to demonstrate research and analytical skills
• Attention to detail and highly numerate
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to engage with large teams
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with a creative approach to process improvement
• Strong IT skills, especially with MS Office applications (i.e. Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
• An interest in the automotive sector
