To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy the subject and the course content which is relevant to my role, however the conditions of the apprenticeship delivered and managed by Yorkshire Ambulance Service have been inadequate and have not fulfilled the requirements of the apprenticeship rules.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt new skills and have deepened my underpinning knowledge to enable me to progress my career. It has been up to me to manage this in my own time. The time required to be able to complete the apprenticeship is not provided by my employer in my day to day role.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The course was not constructed well enough to enable learners to complete the apprenticeship in the allowed time. Apprentices have to study and complete the apprenticeship on rest days. The allocated days scheduled in the working rota were poorly times, managed and without IT.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

Yorkshire Ambulance Service has provided almost no support and many obstacles to my apprenticeship. I have suffered a huge detriment to my course currency.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

No. My workplace and job role barely provide enough turnaround time for a clean uniform and a rest day before the next set of shifts start. I currently have to complete the apprenticeship studies on my only 2 rest days per week.
