Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at Mott MacDonald?
The experience working at Mott MacDonald is overall positive. The colleagues are all supportive and willing to give opportunities to graduates. At Mott MacDonald, there is also a dedicated development programme for gradates in the first few years of the career, and each year everyone in the company has 60 hours allocated to learn and develop.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
A graduate analyst at Mott MacDonald will join in a project team and play a role as project delivery support to assist colleagues in the project team and take care of some administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings and workshops, organising online documents, collecting information etc. I enjoy the tasks where I contribute to the project and the work will be presented to the client.

How is the support you receive?

The line managers are all really helpful and knowledgeable. They listen to my career aspirations and actively take actions to find the best opportunity for me. My mentor and I have regular bi-weekly catch up and give useful advice on how I can best approach my goal. My buddy was really helpful during my first months of the job and helped me settle effortlessly in the company IT system.
How is your work-life balance?

Mott MacDonald puts enormous focus on employees' wellbeing where we have wellbeing champions, employee assistance programme and strong company culture for safety and wellbeing at work and in project. The colleagues I have worked with do not encourage working overtime and are all very conscious of each other's wellbeing.
What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?

The organisational culture is very supportive, collaborative, and wellbeing aware. The culture is throughout the whole organisation where everyone regardless of their grade is approachable and pleasant to work with. Mott puts a lot of emphasis on our PRIDE values (Progress, Respect, Integrity, Drive, and Excellence) and the values are embodied in the work we do every day.
How would you rate Mott MacDonald initiatives when it comes to equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility?

I think Mott MacDonald really supports EDI initiatives where I have seen leadership development programme specifically designed for minority ethnicity and there are many internal webinars raising awareness of LGBT, neurodiversity, and veteran communities.
How would you rate Mott MacDonald CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives?

I think Mott MacDonald do really well in terms of CSR initiatives. In Advisory and Programme Delivery unit, we have teams that specifically focus on social value and social infrastructure. Other than that, we have colleagues promoting and organising volunteering opportunities in the local communities where our clients operate in.
