Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Managing the review and approval process of marketing materials such as emails. Managed the external creative agencies to do so. Managed team admin tasks such as raising POs and scheduling deliveries to consumers.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes, I was responsible for many projects from conception to finish. I was independently responsible for many core tasks for the team however help and guidance was always available when required.

I learned numerous new skills such as meticulous attention to detail and organisation, managing and updating complex data spreadsheets and great confidence with management of stakeholders and presenting.

Support and Guidance

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

Excellent. Despite independence and responsibility, when I requested guidance I was always able to access it. This is both from my team, externally to the department and also the student and placement leads. Extra support from employee resource groups and mentors was also very useful.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

J&J genuinely to adopt the credo culture in all decisions made. Everyone in Janssen is very friendly, personable and helpful. Even in challenging times, there is a no blame culture and problems are resolved as a team.
