Managing end-to-end cases for designing, manufacturing and delivering patient specific joint replacement devices. This could be CAD modelling, creating technical drawings, risk assessments, documentation, communication with surgeons and sales reps, assisting with manufacturing questions and more. There was also plenty of non case related work such as process improvement as well as opportunities to be part of projects in different teams in operations and across the site.

Absolutely. Every case I helped with was shipped to a patient somewhere in the world to be surgically implanted so the work is very meaningful. You are given the opportunity to be independent and take ownership of your work from the very start.

I have massively improved my communication skills and awareness of products on the market in orthopaedics and joint reconstruction. I am much more confident in my design skills and reasoning and have learnt a lot about risk management.

I had weekly meetings with my supervisor and there was a brilliant network of other students and graduates for support. The team I worked in are all so passionate about the work and are really keen to share their expertise. Overall, everyone on site was happy to help me.

Very friendly, and everyone is happy to help. There's a big emphasis on corporate social responsibility so there are loads of opportunities to do charity work, STEM Outreach and there are multiple site wide events that everyone gets involved with.
