Although a lot of dedication and commitment has been required to progress, the quality of experience overall has been very good. I have enjoyed the challenges immensely and it is very satisfying to see how I have progressed over the last few years. The biggest benefit is being able to put into practice what I have learnt from my academic studies, so I can develop a greater understanding of the processes and procedures involved within my role.

Yes, skills that I have learned/ developed have included management/ leaderships styles, programme and resource management, negotiation, communication with all stakeholders, planning, data management, risk management, cashflow management and forecasting, understanding of economics and the construction industry, data analysis, emotional intelligence, effective / timely decision making skills, strategic planning and considerations and teambuilding.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
My academic programme was very well structured by my university provider. My work placement was very self-driven, which allowed me to progress, whilst providing a range of opportunities for me to develop my experience. Although there was no formal rotation as part of my work placement, the business has supported me to move into other teams within the business.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
My employer provided good support throughout my apprenticeship. I was supported with a regular study day in which to complete my academic studies. I was well supported in completing additional training throughout my apprenticeship. This has helped me to expand my knowledge and understanding. I have also been given additional study days where required and have received a network of support throughout the apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
The support from my training provider has been good. They have provided a lot core information which formed the foundation of my knowledge. They also supplemented the university course with access to industry information and additional workshops designed to further develop my knowledge in preparation for my end point assessment with RICS.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
My qualification has provided the knowledge and understanding of why and how key elements of my role should be undertaken and how I can apply my knowledge in the real world. It has provided me with the confidence to lead and manage projects successfully. It has helped me to support colleagues within the business and provide advice to my clients.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There are many extra curricular activities within the business to get involved with. For example, there are networking groups, specifically targeted for young professionals. There are also regular team events and activities to get involved with. The business supports regular CPD events which helps to maintain a continuous commitment to learning. External networking opportunities are also well supported.
