Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

My role included providing support for various report writing for project work, reviewing camera trap footage for animal presence on site, as well as being a support for ecologists during site work (ecology walkover surveys, etc). I also did ecology research on various animal species, as well as plant knowledge such as carbon sequestration.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes there was responsibility during my placement to provide good quality work that would be used in projects with real clients, and helping colleagues with work when they were overwhelmed. We were also trusted to help while on site looking for clues of animal presence, invasive species and anything of ecological importance.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

The company culture is friendly, helpful and quite flexible as many people hybrid work between the office and home. The team I was in was supportive and it was clear everyone wanted me as an intern to have a good and interesting experience, giving a range of work tasks to do so I wouldn't get bored which was greatly appreciated.
