Graduate Project Manager Review

Arcadis is an amazing place to work. With it's structured graduate program, flexible working model, and competitive salary, I have been very lucky to work in such a positive working environment where I feel valued and given every opportunity to grow.

As a graduate I support senior project managers in their day-to-day activities which could vary from resource scheduling to estimating costs and deadlines to communicating with clients and other members of the project team. Every day is different which is great.

As a graduate there are obviously some elements of the job that my senior colleagues might not be fully comfortable with me doing but for the most part I am trusted with most parts of the project management role. I feel valued and I always receive positive recognition for the work that I do.

In Arcadis we have a great health insurance provider and a very competitive pension scheme. I was also awarded with a brilliant bonus earlier in the year for the work that I put in.

I definitely feel I know a lot more from when I started on my first day. I feel that the progress that I have made is down to the training and practical experience that I have been given. There have been multiple times throughout the year that have put me out of my comfort zone and I have definitely learned a lot from these experiences. From leading meetings with clients and project teams to attending career fairs and presenting Powerpoints in front classrooms of students, I definitely these experiences have helped my grow and continue to grow.

I am always supported in my job role. I have direct communications with both my line manager and business director and they are always there to give me advice.

As we have a hybrid business model, my work life balance is brilliant. I definitely believe that attending the office has its benefits but it is great to have the flexibility to stay at home if needed.

As we are a construction company that focus on the development of its people, we take Health & Safety and Sustainability very seriously. We have many initiatives across the organisation that support these values and it is the reason that we are the leading ESG performer in the construction industry. Arcadis is a very exciting organisation to work for as we have such a large presence across the entire construction industry. Therefore, there is always an opportunity to grow.

We have a lot of initiatives within the organisation and we have a specific intiative focused on affinity groups and making sure everybody in our organisation is represented and feel like they belong.

I have had an amazing first year at Arcadis with so many opportunities to grow and travel. It is an amazing company with so much valuable work going on.
