Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Liaising with contractors, building inspections, minor repairs, portering, Helping clients with building and facility problems.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

All of my colleagues are very supportive and helpful. My peers are often at hand to help me with situations im not sure about or to help me develop my skills.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have developed my customer service skill and ability to deal with difficult situations. I've gained first aid training, Pat testing training as well as working towards a city and guilds qualification in facilities management.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

Well structured, we have sessions with a tutor every few weeks with plenty of time in-between to complete assignments and ask for help.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

The University give lots of support to myself and my development. The in house training at the university is second to none. There are also opportunity's to to extra training to gain additional qualifications along the way.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Our Tutor gives good informative learning sessions once every few weeks and gives us assignments to work on in-between. We are given plenty of time to complete them and our tutor is always available to ask for help.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The skills I'm learning greatly improve my ability to be a key member of my team. The theory we learn is easily put into practice at work.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

The Covid-19 Pandemic has closed many of the normal activities but i have hear story's of department get togethers where people who would normal not cross paths get to meet and learn more about the university. I also attended a welcome event for new staff that was very helpful.

Why?
The University is very well managed and has lots of opportunities to learn and progress. It really feels like they are an employer that wants to invest in its staff.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to University of Oxford?
The university can give lots of training if you don't have it so my best tip would be to show that you are willing to learn and also prepared to understand how the university.
