Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I provide admin support for my team, which includes setting up workshops and their zoom links, communicating with the participants and opening the workshop on the day. I also look after the enquiries inbox for the whole team.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I am really enjoying my programme, it has given me structure and support during lockdown.

Skills Development

I have developed my communication, organisational and team work skills. I have also used many new IT packages and this has significantly improved my IT skills. I have been working remotely which has allowed me to improve my lone working skills and being independent.

Very well organised, I have at least two 1-2-1s with my line manager each week to support me with my work and I meet my advisor monthly to work through my college assignments.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My line manager is always available for me to contact with any questions or issues I am having and we have multiple catch ups weekly.

I meet my advisor monthly and she is always happy for me to email her in between our sessions.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

There are some areas that are very relevant in my role - including communication and IT skills.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
I haven't had the full experience yet due to the pandemic but I am an apprentice ambassador at the University and am part of the Apprentice network where we had a zoom Christmas event.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend University of Oxford to a friend?
Yes
Why?
They are a large organisation with plenty of room for development. They have supported me through my apprentice and everyone I meet has been friendly and supportive. They provide many benefits for their staff including giving extra days off to thank employees for their work during lockdown.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to University of Oxford?
For an apprentice, they are looking for individuals with a passion for the job they are applying for and being able to use the skills they have gained throughout their life not just work.
