Register Your Interest - Central Sales Placement

Primary Purpose of the Job

The primary purpose of this role is to support the General Manager – RCH with the performance of our Retail Contract hire product whilst also supporting the Broker Operations Manager the day-to-day operations of the Broker Sales Support team. This role also has a big focus on ensuring we are giving the best experience possible to our customers, brands, brokers, retailers and internal stakeholders.

The role is also for the undergraduate employee to gain business and work experience in a professional working environment.

Main Responsibilities

Support the General Manager – RCH and the Broker Operations Manager by:

  • Raising quotations and rate books to support with the sale of vehicles to end user customers
  • Query handling from brokers, dealers and end user customers to achieve satisfactory customer outcomes via Salesforce within the agreed KPIs
  • Maintaining our Point of Sale and Stock Management systems to ensure brokers, dealers and end user customers can self-serve and further aid efficiency
  • Responsible for all reporting requirements for the Indirect Sales team to provide management information and sales insight
  • Communicate with the wider Retail Sales team, keeping them informed with updates on our Retail Contract Hire progress
  • Manage Market research and competitor analysis in order to establish where our rentals sit in the market to support both CtP and Brand campaign activity
  • Be responsible for a wide range of administrative duties and inter departmental liaison to ensure efficiency in all areas
  • Liaise and build relationships with suppliers, customers, brokers, retailers and brands to ensure the department is up to date with any relevant information

Principal Contacts / Working Relationships

  • External Stakeholder – Brokers – Sell Commit to Purchase (CTP) / Commit to Market (CTM) vehicles to individual or business customers. You work with Brokers by answering their queries and providing information. They drive your workload which is managed via Salesforce. You will be working with Brokers daily
  • External Stakeholder – Retailers – Also known as Dealerships or Centres. For the Indirect team, the retailers hold all CTP stock at their site. For the Direct Sales team, retailers order vehicles for our SME customers. They are also responsible for the delivery of vehicles for both teams. You work with retailers on a daily basis, and they drive workload managed via Salesforce.
  • Internal Stakeholders – New Business Team – This team carry out number of administrative duties that enable activation of new contracts for Broker. You will liaise with this team daily to drive activation numbers
  • External Stakeholders – VWG Brands – Our brands work in conjunction with VWFS to provide financial support to sell their vehicles using our financial products
  • Internal Stakeholder – Campaign Development – Our campaign team build RCH campaigns in Connect Online for our Retailers to sell our stock. They are responsible for the maintenance and performance of those campaigns.
  • Internal Stakeholder – Business Controlling – They monitor VWFS’ financial performance and are responsible for tracking that performance and collaborate with them and our brands on any enhanced campaigns [attack plans].

Decision Making Scope

  • Any decisions made need approval by their Line Manager, but can make suggestions as to the outcome

Key Challenges

  • Changing financial circumstances such as Residual Value (RV) changes and Cost of Money (COM) changes mean you need to be pro-active to ensure you are keeping on top of the changing market conditions
  • System capabilities can be frustrating for external stakeholders, so you need to be fully trained and confident with system use in order to help with queries and continue to drive sales
  • RCH is an underperforming finance product and has seen a 25% reduction in case volume over the last 5 years. How can we help our business and brands to reverse this trend?

Education, Training and Experience

  • You will be enrolled at a university which offers a 1 year industrial placement.
  • Excellent organisation skills with the ability to deal with a variety of tasks and meet deadlines.
  • You pay close to attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
  • You are able to communicate clearly with the business both verbally and in writing.
  • You use your own initiative to answer questions and solve queries.
  • You take a proactive and flexible approach with the ability to react appropriately and effectively to changing circumstances and demands.
