Register Your Interest - Internal Account Manager Placement
Primary Purpose of the Job
The role of Internal Account Manager is to provide an internal focus to our high value, complex and outsourced Fleet Customers, by gaining a detailed understanding of their business and vehicle policy to identify business opportunities and provide bespoke fleet solutions to their needs.
The role emphasis is on delivering year on year growth by meeting all business and commercial objectives, supporting Account Managers to secure an improved supply status and achieve client retention through delivering high quality service with tangible customer value benefits. This could include supporting bids and tenders as required.
Main Responsibilities
- Assist with preparation of sales proposals and processing of orders, all within SLAs to ensure we win and retain VWFS: Fleet business
- Liaise with Pricing, Asset Risk and the Field Sales Team on adjustments to quotations
- Liaise with Retailers and Brand colleagues to agree/negotiate discounts or group supported campaigns for customers.
- Management of any tactical or Group supported campaigns
- Provision of bespoke customer reporting – Rate Books and Tender documentation to win new business
- Support customer requirements for non-standard product; vehicle conversions, sign writing and other bespoke requirements
- Handling in life support enquiries, via email or telephone, achieving high levels of customer satisfaction
- Attend customer visits where required; support internal customer visits and Tender presentations.
- Provide support to the Field Sales Team to aid sales growth
- Management of any tactical or Group supported business
- Responsible for a wide range of administrative duties and inter departmental liaison
- Direct communication with customers to provide pro-active sales support
- Liaise and build relationships with suppliers, customers and manufacturers
- Promotion of the wider product portfolio including Multi-Marque
Principal Contacts / Working Relationships
- Daily contact with Sales and Account Managers to support all sales and renewal opportunities, to support all account management functions, the customer experience to protect, retain and grow the funded portfolio.
- Updating through reports and presentations the Head of Sales and National Sales Managers customer information and quote and order volumes.
- Dealerships and Manufacturers- confirming product changes, discount terms and pricing as well as stock availability.
- Manage relationships within VWFS Fleet (i.e. Corporate Supply, across Sales Support teams, etc.) and the wider business to ensure the company is delivering a high level of customer service to their customers.
- Maintain customer decision maker relationships as well as wider influencers within customer organisation.
- Liaison with other relevant VWFS departments including Asset Risk, Special Lending Unit (Credit), Finance and other supporting teams to provide services to our customers.
Decision Making Scope
- Provide solutions to all customer needs and requirements in relation to Vehicles, value added products such as fuel cards, telematics, EV Charging, accident management to support their fleet requirements.
- Trouble shoot customer escalated issues, take ownership of all customer-related action plans for service improvement.
- Represent VWFS | Fleet’s to new prospects and communicate solutions to their fleet needs.
- Develop commercial propositions and resolve all pricing disputes in collaboration with the Customer Account Manager and National Sales Managers.
Key Challenges
- The Internal Account Manager role operates within the Corporate Fleet market which is characterised as being very complex and demanding including multi-level contacts within the customer organisation and periodically a formal tender and procurement process.
- Will need to handle multiple customers’ requirements and provide a broad range of fleet solutions to meet individual customer needs.
- There is a need to be able to trouble-shoot problems and escalations from the Sales Support Executives and to see all through to effective resolution.
- Daily challenge of having multiple customers with differing requirements. The IAMs will be the face of VWFS to these customers and need to act quickly, decisively and follow up/resolve all queries.
Education, Training and Experience
- GCSE Maths and English at level C or above
- Prerequisite is to be an Undergraduate
Skills and Personal Characteristics Required
- A good knowledge of VW Group Brand product. Knowledge of other brands would be advantageous
- Experience of direct customer contact and a proven track record of service provision.
- Experience of supporting negotiations complex contracts as the basis for developing long-term customer relationships – desirable
- Good time management and organisational skills
- Ability to identify a sales opportunity and ability to retain business by providing an excellent customer experience
- Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy and ability to work under pressure
- Confident and customer-focused in communicating both by telephone and face to face with the ability to communicate effectively both in writing and over Teams at all levels
- A proactive and flexible approach with the ability to react appropriately and effectively to changing circumstances and demands
- IT literate with the ability to grasp new systems
- A team player with the ability to work under pressure in order to meet strict deadlines
- Customer service experience desirable
- Ability to demonstrate use of initiative
