Register Your Interest - HR Resourcing Placement
Primary Purpose of the Job
The Human Resources department within Volkswagen Financial Services work closely with all areas of the business to support them in delivering the people strategy within their functional areas. Our purpose is to enable high performance, potential and reputation to ensure VWFS is recognised as the best automotive finance company in the UK.
Working in the HR department, and specifically supporting the Resourcing team, this role provides key co-ordination support for Resourcing activities, with the opportunity to support some key projects including the Undergraduate Recruitment Process and initiatives over the one-year placement.
This role also plays a key part in co-ordinating the temporary and contractor requisition approvals, supporting the delivery of the undergraduate recruitment for the following year and will have the opportunity to manage volume and specialist recruitment roles as part of their placement. The undergraduate also works closely alongside our Communications team to promote our employer brand through our social media channels.
Main Responsibilities
- Supporting the co-ordination of Resourcing activities for temporary, contractor and permanent staff – including interview arranging, co-ordination of credit checking procedures and ensuring pre-assessment work (e.g. presentations) is completed on time and sent over to hiring managers
- Looking after temporary and contractor recruitment, ensuring all extensions, new contractor requests and temporary offers are correctly and efficiently processed within a 2-day SLA whilst working closely with our MSP.
- Key involvement with delivering temporary and contractor recruitment compliance training to our hiring managers across the business and helping to drive the education piece surrounding recruiting/managing temporary and contractor workers and supporting our managers where necessary.
- Planning and implementation of recruitment and sourcing activities for ‘Early Careers’ (Undergraduate & Apprentice) recruitment campaigns e.g. briefing calls with hiring managers, advert writing, shortlisting and planning and delivering a familiarisation event to welcome our new undergraduates into the business.
- In Q2, supporting the ‘Early Careers’ assessment and selection process by taking full vacancy briefs, reviewing video interviews and assessment scoring, shortlisting, arranging interviews and assessment centres, liaising with candidates and stakeholders, and ensuring the effective running and co-ordination of the assessment process
- Provide feedback and make verbal offers of employment to successful ‘Early Careers’ candidates
- Rotate through the team to support volume recruitment in customer operations during 3rd quarter of placement and finally supporting specialist recruitment in quarter 4.
- Proactively identifying and offering support for process improvements within the resourcing team, with opportunities to get involved with key Resourcing team projects to encourage innovation and diversity throughout our attraction and selection methods
- Working collaboratively with our Communications team to produce engaging content and advertising materials within the early careers space, e.g. promotional videos/clips and LinkedIn posts
- Management of Resourcing inbox, answering general queries and escalating more complex queries and issues to relevant team members
- Proactively develop and build strong working relationships with hiring managers, candidates and wider external stakeholders.
- Provide administration support including the coordination of team meetings and minute taking, alongside general filing to ensure candidate records are kept in compliance with data protection legislation
- Ensure excellent customer service is being delivered to all stakeholders, delegates and candidates.
- Responsible for key monthly reports such as the MI report, sent over to HR Controlling to update on our permanent, temporary and contractor hires.

- Hiring Managers – Understanding of temporary, contractor and ‘Early Careers’ requirements, building key relationships to support with hiring needs and any assistance required.
- HR Ops – Continuous improvement project involvement
- HR Hub - Liaise and inform regarding Contractor, Temp and ‘Early Careers’ population
- HR Controller– work closely on all temp and contractor offers/extensions and monthly reporting.

- Communications – Social media posts and other comms related activity

- MSP – a key point of contact for both Experis and Manpower
- Experian – Credit referencing provider
- RateMyPlacement /HigherIn– Advertising site for Undergraduate recruitment campaign, work closely for marketing initiatives and improvements to boost application quality.

- Arrangement and timings of assessments/meetings/interviews for resourcing team, hiring managers and candidates

- Supporting managers with hiring decisions in wash up sessions
- Approval of temp and contractor extensions and offer approvals
Key Challenges
- Volume activity requires high levels of organisation and managing simultaneous requests with a keen ability to prioritise and escalate where appropriate
- Managing multiple deadlines and expectations of wider team
Education, Training and Experience
Essential
- Studying towards an HR related degree
- Good organisation skills with the ability to deal with a large variety of tasks and priorities at once
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Use of own initiative to answer questions and solve queries, strong problem-solving ability
- Able to communicate clearly and confidently with all individuals (candidate, delegates, suppliers and internal stakeholders) both verbally and in writing.
- Intermediate/beginner excel skills with an ability to analyse data
- Strong teamwork and cooperation skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- MS Office proficiency, especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Desirable
- Previous work experience of supporting a Recruitment Branch, RPO team or internal Resourcing Team
