Painting & decorating, mostly commercial and industrial jobs.

I would wake up about half 6 to make it into work for 8 oclock depending on travel and start times work straight through till 10:30 go on break for half an hour work through till 1 oclock have another break and leave site around 4:30

Indeed am an apprentice painter and decorator and I am on site every day of work, the jobs vary from council houses to schools to student accommodations

My job role is an apprentice. I work from 8:00-16:00 from Monday to Friday. I work all different types of jobs, from schools to factories. I paint walls, ceilings, floors and woodwork. I learnt from the person I work with and have gained skills overtime.

My role as an apprentice painter and decorator is to make sure that the work is done correctly and learn the techniques necessary to achieve this outcome quickly and efficiently.

This includes getting to work and setting up our equipment, prepping the area ready for work , cleaning along the way making sure it stays clean . Leaving a good quality finish

I fetch paint, help with preparation like sanding and filling. I also do the low down cutting in and help out with rolling.

Getting to work using company provided vehicle. Painting and decorating interiors and exteriors using a large variety of paints and sometimes wall coverings.

My day to day consists of driving to the meet point, driving to the job, sheeting up then preparing whatever your painting. After that painting the surface and putting wet paint signs up to prevent any bad reviews on the work you don’t. Drive back to the...
