I use a range of hand-tools to complete repair/renewal work along with fabricating new items to be fitted. As a fabricator I am expected to read technical drawings to produce fabricated items using hand tools and joining methods.

I am a mechanical designer, I currently am working on changes to design for pipe routing. I use 2D and 3D CAD software.

Its a good job, but some of the work we are given is disorganised making it harder for us to complete what is asked of us.

I am currently attending Clydebank College on a 5 day basis with the view of progressing my NC in Fabrication&Welding before the end of the academic year

Booking in stock, receiving deliveries, dispatching goods

mark out, burn to cut steel, grind it into shape and weld together. making sure wearing correct ppe and following health and safety

Shadowing team members on the job to get hands on practical training and completing log entries for each job.

It invokes having a lot of knowledge of what you are doing within the job and understand procedures and following the WS.
