Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I use a range of hand-tools to complete repair/renewal work along with fabricating new items to be fitted. As a fabricator I am expected to read technical drawings to produce fabricated items using hand tools and joining methods.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy the variety my role provides, I am often changing vessels and jobs giving me wide exposure to my trade.

I have learnt many new skills and developed any I already knew, each time I work is an opportunity to learn.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

There have been several changes at stages further into the apprenticeship, however we are made aware of the changes.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive a high level of support from my employer with personal and work related issues.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

There are plenty of training courses available which are open to me for learning and I work alongside skilled trades people who help develop my skills and understanding of my trade.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
