I am an electrical design apprentice and use a CAD software every day and do different design processes.

Fabrication work involves any kind of metalwork on board the navy ships. I mostly work on the Type 45 platform. The roles could range from putting pieces of trim up to cutting holes in the hull of the ship.

I design and check different drawings and have daily meetings with my team.

My role consists of a wide variety of jobs, I am a mechanical designer so, I work with pipes/ reading drawings etc.

As a welding apprentice I work on naval ships. Daily this involves setting up for the job, ensury all safety requirements are met. and completing the job.
