Internally yes you're given enough responsibility to not feel hand held but with the knowlege that at the end of the day you are an intern so mistakes and misunderstandings are possible.
You may get the opportunity to work on a client account also where you will take on responsibilty there

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
As much as you needed. Wherever you may have run into a wall, providing you know who to ask (or ask someone who knows someone who will know) you can get answers to mostly anything. Equally you won't be constantly watched and you feel like an employee.

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
All of it. It was a great mix of enough responsibility and not too much. The socials are fun and the people are great. I would highly recommend looking for an internship in IBM
