Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at IBM?

My experience at IBM has been great so far. Having completed just 1 year now in the graduate program. From the beginning the team has been extremely welcoming and supportive. We started off with a lot of training and this really made sure we were all up to speed when we started our roles properly. Once the training was done and we got stuck in, I didn't feel like I was a graduate, I felt like a normal employee and was given opportunities to take control of sections of builds and demos.

What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?

As an AI Engineer in Client Engineering my main role was to work with clients to help build out agentic solutions and AI workflow demos that suited their use cases. We would work closely with the client to ensure that the demos and POCs were matching their criteria and that they could see the value that this solution could provide. I really enjoyed the coding and fast paced nature of 4 week builds and also the opportunity to present to clients.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend IBM to a friend?

Yes

Why?

IBM has so many different career paths you can take. It doesn't matter what your role is when you start, you can move roles and really find the role you want.

How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?

3/5
I was a little confused about what my role would be when i was hired as we were hired into 1 department for a year to 18 months and then move onto a destination role. But the initial role wasn't really explained to us.

When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to IBM?

Just be true to yourself and be open to learning and being growth minded, I found that IBM doesn't necessarily hire based on technical ability but also on your willingness to grow and develop.
