Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
In this role, I was responsible for:
- Hosting inductions for new professional joiners to IBM.
- Arranging and scheduling deals for business units within IBM Consulting.
- Maintaining a database for IBM Consulting employees leaving the business.
- Maintaining an internal distribution list database for certain IBM Consulting business units.
- Analyse team business processes and practices to see what improvements could be reasonably made.
- Maintain process documents within the team and ensure they are up-to-date.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
There were roles and responsibilities assigned to me including handling inductions, making sure that leavers are offboarded correctly, arranging deals with business professionals, and editing distribution lists

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
I demonstrated my networking skills by searching for internal opportunities to develop my skillset. Another measure that helped was keeping in contact with inductees and ensure that organisational links were still intact, thereby allowing me to participate in projects that suited my career interests. Work shadowing with project managers was initiated by me reaching out and communicating to them; asking if I could shadow them.
