Global Advisory Summer Analyst Review

I completed a summer internship within one of the sector teams within Global Advisory, supporting various live transactions as well as pitches and ad-hoc tasks. My responsibilities included financial modelling, market research, preparing presentations, and interacting with various internal and external stakeholders.

I was given a large amount of responsibility on both internal and external deliverables and had ownership on various workstreams which gave me a great exposure to the projects I worked on.

The internship developed my modelling and presentation skills as well as my commercial awareness within the sector I worked on. This improved my proficiency across technical workstreams while deepening my understanding of the transaction process and the various client business models. I was also able to develop my interpersonal skills through working directly with senior bankers as well as clients while strengthening my ability to multitask across projects and stakeholder needs.

The team was very inclusive and supportive across all my projects, which allowed for rapid iteration in my skillset and deliverables through feedback and questions. I was also given the independence and trust to lead workstreams which allowed for my confidence to develop as the internship progressed.

The culture was highly collaborative and open, this allowed for a high level of support but also visibility which made for a very strong environment to learn. The level of exposure given to juniors was also very encouraging in building skills early as evidenced by the amount of client and senior banker interaction which juniors received.

I enjoyed my internship very much. The work was intellectually stimulating and exciting with the huge amount of variation in project tasks and interactions with colleagues and clients which made for an excellent experience throughout.
