Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Equity Sales internship. Involved supporting the team with tasks, completing an intern project, joining meetings, and weekly stock pitches, amongst other elements. Gained insights into all the roles across Spec Sales and Gen Sales. Also had opportunity to learn about other parts of the bank.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes, I supported the team with lots of interesting tasks and was given responsibility and deliverables.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

Definitely: the scheme allowed me to develop many skills. These included developing my technical finance knowledge, presentation skills, modelling, stock pitches, and understanding the equities market.

Throughout the internship I received lots of support and guidance from the team. As well as my mentors, the team all took time to answer questions and guide me through the process.

Extremely welcoming culture and team. The atmosphere was friendly, encouraging, and created a great opportunity to develop as an intern.

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I really enjoyed the internship and found it to be a really valuable experience. It met all the expectations I had going into it and exceeded them as well.
