Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

I started off by shadowing some of the more senior members of my team, before being given some responsibility and new projects to work on, as well as group presentations with other interns.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes I believe I was given a fair amount of responsibility as I was trusted to deal with both clients and underwriters individually, which was a fantastic opportunity to represent the company and develop communication skills with external stakeholders.

My excel skills have become much stronger, communication and prioritisation skills have also improved, and my problem solving has drastically improved.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

really welcoming. I was surprised how open people were to talking with interns, and it felt as though they truly believed that we were the future of the company, which was a great feeling.
