Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

I was an Intern within the Transactional Liabilities team. It has been an amazing opportunity to learn and work within a very unique area of broking, Within the W&I team I have worked across multiple deals at different stages and have had continuous support and the opportunity to learn throughout. I have met with underwriters and have continuously had the opportunity to extend my learning beyond just my allocated team which has been great.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes, the transactional liabilities team have very much given me responsibility but in a way that has allowed me to take my own approach to tasks rather than an extremely rigid structure. This freedom has been great.

Yes, within my role I had great opportunities to improve both my technical skills in applying them to live deals within my team, but also my soft skills through meeting with clients but also across all Lockton teams.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

My teams were great in helping out especially when working on documents or deal stages for the first time, but they also allowed me to have freedom to make mistakes first which really improved my learning throughout my internship

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

Great, I felt confident reaching out to people across the whole company and everyone was extremely friendly and willing to have a chat and take time to help me learn.
