Overview of Experience

Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.

I had a really valuable experience taking part in the Horizon Women’s Work Experience Programme at Rothschild & Co. It gave me an insight into the world of finance, Rothschild & Co’s values, and the different career opportunities available, including apprenticeships and internships.
I particularly enjoyed hearing from professionals about their career journeys and learning about areas such as M&A and global markets. The programme also helped me develop my confidence, communication, networking and professional skills.
Overall, the experience was inspiring and gave me a clearer understanding of a career in finance. I’m very grateful to Rothschild & Co for the opportunity and would highly recommend the programme to other young women interested in finance.

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?

It was really interesting and helpful to learn more about Rothschild & Co and the different roles available within the business. Hearing from professionals about areas such as M&A and global markets, as well as different routes into finance like apprenticeships and internships, gave me a much clearer idea of the opportunities available and what a career in finance could look like.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

The company culture felt welcoming, supportive and professional. Everyone I spoke to was friendly and happy to answer questions, which made the atmosphere feel encouraging and comfortable. I also liked how collaborative and inclusive the environment was, especially as part of the Horizon Women’s Programme.
