Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

I was an intern for the risk practises team. My day to day was spent supporting my team with both internal and external client work. As part of our internship we also completed a innovation project and had regular talk industry specialists.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes, I worked directly with clients, however always had a support system to go to for help.

I developed my skills in programmes like power BI and other microsoft platforms. I also developed my understating of the industry and developed skills to aid me in my future career.

I received a lot of support. This came in a multitude of ways. Firstly through my team where I had a dedicated point of contact, a grad buddy to help and people within HR and the intern scheme.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

The company culture was amazing and intends were treated very well. People throughout the company, even at very high levels, where always willing to help and speak to interns, both to offer advice and teach about their areas of expertise.

Take every opportunity to learn and speak to as many people as possible and everyone is always happy to have a chat. Use your time to not only develop your skills but also to help figure out what sector of the industry appeals to you the most.
