What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?

During my time at IBM, I have completed several roles and rotations that have given me a broad range of technical, business, and collaboration experience. As a Techline zStack Specialist, I supported technical enablement activities, developed my understanding of IBM Z technologies, and engaged with sales and technical teams. As a Brand Technical Specialist within Data & AI, I built expertise in Db2 and AI-related technologies, supported client-focused initiatives, contributed to technical demonstrations and asset creation, and collaborated with SMEs across the business. I also completed a Lab technical rotation in Hursley, where I gained hands-on experience working on technical projects and enhancing my problem-solving skills.
The aspects of the role I have enjoyed most are continuous learning, working with a diverse range of colleagues, and contributing to projects that deliver tangible value. I particularly enjoy collaborating across teams, building technical expertise, and taking part in initiatives that combine technology, communication, and stakeholder engagement. These experiences have helped me develop both professionally and personally while expanding my understanding of IBM's technology portfolio and business.

4/5

When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to IBM?

My advice would be to be yourself, stay curious, and demonstrate a willingness to learn. IBM values potential, collaboration, and a growth mindset just as much as technical knowledge. During the recruitment process, it's helpful to showcase your experiences, ask thoughtful questions, and be open to learning from others. Once you join, make the most of the opportunities available, build your network, and don't be afraid to step outside your comfort zone.
