Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

This is a software role in an agile environment. The role is full-stack development including Javascript (Typescript) / React for the front-end and Java for the backend.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

I was given the full responsibility of a software engineer, participating as a regular member of the team.

Support and Guidance

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

The company were excellent at providing support. They promote an excellent culture of personal growth, even for their non-placement employees. A large part of this comes from a core working pattern of pair-programming, encouraging everybody to ask questions of each other through-out the work day.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

The company culture was broadly very positive, and people were very welcoming. I fulfilled this placement entirely remotely due to Covid, and I do feel that this impacted my ability to get to know my colleagues.
