Technology Consulting Placement Intern Review

I was a leadership support intern in the public sector for the consulting side of the company. Intially I worked in the GenAi space on prompt engineering and bid development then once I recieved clearning (government) my capacity was split and I joined another team doing project management office support. This included aiding create the virtual library for the team, scheduling meetings, creating decks, ensuring people did their allocated tasks/actions, governance, data reporting, resource allocation, and workflow standardisation

Yes, at first it was scary because I saw how my actions/ mistakes could affect people in real time, however after a few months I became a lot more confident which made it a lot more interesting

Yes most definitely
AI literacy, prompt engineering, business analysis,stakeholder management, project coordination, CONFIDENCE!!! and public speaking!! Also project planning, problem-solving, analytical thinking, data analysis, workflow automation,change management, communication and presentation skills, client engagement, cross-functional collaboration and strategic thinking. I also got to develop skills I already had like making a GOOD deck on powerpoint and gaining qualifications IBM funded like AWS.

I got a lot from my taks managers, however as I was leadership support, a lot of people outside of my allocated managers would reach out to me to do work and sometimes I'd have no idea how to navigate it. My initial managers were very supportive to help me balance this, understand tasks or even set boundaries. I wish a had a bit more support from foundation managers towards the end of my placement to navigate next steps

Amazing, very inclusive every is supportive and open to teaching you once you ask

It was great, sometimes difficult to balance work balance with outside initiatives as my team was mainly online.
