Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

5/5
I am an in store assistant for customers coming in to get their eyes tested, this involves me welcoming them, getting them checked in or booking a test, doing their pre-tests and helping them select glasses to order if needed.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

5/5
I have thoroughly enjoyed learning about the stores processes and working with my colleagues who have all been incredibly kind and helpful, including my coaching team.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

5/5
I have learnt a ton in regard to how eyes work and the different method we have of correcting vision as well as how to look after our eyes health wise.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

5/5
The way both my coaching team and my manager have worked together to streamline my learning process has been incredibly helpful, allowing me to seamlessly go from learning one process to another with it always feeling like a natural progression.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

5/5
I have received a lot of support from my manager as well as the in store team. They are always encouraging of me trying new things and getting stuck in but also being available to support me when necessary.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

5/5
I have semi regular contact with my coaching team, keeping up to date on my current work and helping me know where's best to next go. Any time I get with them is useful and they're always encouraging of the work I'm doing.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

5/5
As someone who has never worked in a any field like this I find it incredibly helpful, the amount of knowledge I've gained already in regards to not just how the eye works but the processes of ourselves and the NHS in regards to eye health makes the job a ton easier.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

3/5
Outside of the usual christmas work do, there isn't anything to speak of, but personally I wouldn't be seeking anything like this anyway.
