Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

4/5
My role involves assisting areas of the legal team on a variety of commercial legal matters such as contracts, data protection, property and corporate governance.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

4/5
It is an excellent way to gain practical legal experience alongside studying at University.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

5/5
The main skill I have developed is time management as my role involves managing my live workload, working towards deadlines, attending meetings and completing my university studies. I have also gained legal experience in a variety of areas of law in a short space of time.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

5/5
I spent the first two years of my apprenticeship in commercial contracts and then have recently moved to another area of the team which involves data protection, property and corporate governance work.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

5/5
I receive some exam leave which is a great for me to focus on my university studies. My team are really supportive and provide me with feedback which helps me to focus on where I can improve and what to keep doing.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

3/5
I have a study day every week and attend university sessions in person every three weeks. My study days before these in person sessions are spent completing the preparation so the course is quite self led and independent.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

5/5
My university work has linked well as I have studied modules which directly link to the work I carry out in my role. I have also learnt about other areas of law which I won't gain practical experience of in my role but have found really interesting.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

2/5
We have colleague networks which are a great way to meet people across the business who you may not come across in your day to day role, as well as the opportunity to attend some external events. I was also apart of the Early Talent programme in the first two years of my apprenticeship which was a great way to integrate with others in similar roles and at the same stage of their career.
