Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My apprenticeship was for a Business Analyst so on a day to day basis my work varied everyday, some of the responsibilities include regular catch up calls on teams with the project team to discuss updates as well as usual business analysis activities such as requirements gathering and engineering, process mapping, impact assessments etc which is dependent on where the project is at in it's lifecycle
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I very much enjoyed my program for multiple reasons, one of which is due to the flexibility and variety of the role inside NBS (Newcastle building society) which meant I have the opportunity to work from home as well as in office and also how everyday is different which keeps my job from being structured and the majority if the time lets me have the freedom of organizing my day to day activities. Another reason is the personal development time I was given where my study day was allocated to Friday where this day was solely for myself to reflect on my work throughout the week and progress my knowledge of business analysis.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt and developed on many new and existing skills, some existing skills I have built on and improved during my apprenticeship was time management, my communication skills, and my knowledge of Microsoft 365 apps (Word PowerPoint etc). The major new skill I got was a wide understanding of business operations as a whole which has helped me progress as a business analyst

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Newcastle Building Society to a friend?
Yes
Why?
The main reason I would recommend working anywhere in NBS would be the purpose and main mission statement of the business with us having a major involvement in a lot of charity and community work and because of that the culture is very friendly and extremely welcoming
