Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
I’ve also built hands-on experience with solution design, development, and deployments, working across different teams in the programme to deliver and validate solutions through proofs of concept and use case testing. On the softer side, I’ve improved my ability to present technical content clearly, engage with clients, and provide advisory input in a way that builds trust. I’ve also strengthened my approach to demonstrating value through practical, technical delivery, and understanding client problems and requirements and translating them into effective technical solutions.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?
How much support do you receive from your employer?
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
It also strengthens my ability to connect theory with practical application, improving my confidence in technical discussions and my overall effectiveness in translating requirements into workable solutions.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
Recommendations & Advice
Would you recommend IBM to a friend?
Why?
There is also excellent support from both the organisation and training providers, along with a well-structured programme that helps you develop both technical and soft skills. On top of that, there are lots of opportunities to get involved in communities, networking events and extracurricular activities, which makes it a great place to grow both professionally and personally.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to IBM?
Think about how you can show value in every response. Focus on your approach, the impact you made and how you improved an outcome.
Make sure curiosity comes through. Show how you ask questions, explore beyond the obvious and actively look to learn and understand more.
And throughout all of this, be personable. Build rapport, communicate naturally and let your personality come through so you’re authentic and easy to work with.
