As a Junior Management Consultant (Project Analyst), I support the resourcing and delivery of projects across public sector clients. On a day-to-day basis, I monitor demand, track resource allocation, and help ensure projects are staffed efficiently. I work closely with project managers and internal teams to resolve resourcing challenges and support planning activities. I also contribute to reporting, documentation, and coordination to keep projects running smoothly.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend IBM to a friend?

Yes

Why?

I’d recommend IBM to a friend because it offers a strong mix of real-world experience and continuous learning. You’re given early responsibility on meaningful projects, while still being supported through training, mentoring, and a collaborative team culture. The environment is inclusive and encourages you to grow both professionally and personally. Overall, it’s a great place to build skills, confidence, and long-term career opportunities.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to IBM?

My main tip would be to clearly show your motivation for both consulting and IBM specifically. Make sure to do your research and link your answers to their work and values. Be ready to talk through real examples that demonstrate skills like teamwork, problem-solving, and communication, ideally using a clear structure. Confidence and authenticity go a long way, so don’t try to give “perfect” answers but instead focus on being genuine and reflective. Finally, practise explaining your experiences out loud so you come across clear and concise in interviews.
