Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
I review requirements or user stories so I understand what the system is supposed to do and what performance expectations exist. I then help to implement and run test scenarios to evaluate how my client's system behaves under different conditions.
As a tester, my role is about ensuring the system performs reliably under the conditions it will experience in the real world while also contributing to the broader testing efforts of the team.

Recommendations & Advice
Would you recommend IBM to a friend?
Why?
My training provider is always available to help with learning questions, deadlines, and even offers a campus when I need a focused study environment.
On top of that, the company creates a great atmosphere for personal and professional growth. I’ve developed a lot of confidence and technical ability, especially coming from a non‑technical background, and the environment has played a big role in that. IBM is a place where you can learn, grow, and do real, impactful work while being supported every step of the way.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to IBM?
I’d recommend showing enthusiasm for technology and a genuine interest in how things work, even if you haven’t had much hands‑on experience yet. It also helps to highlight any examples where you’ve learned something new quickly or taken initiative, because IBM values people who are proactive and eager to grow - in fact, one of our core values is based around growth!
Being confident in your communication is important too, as the environment is very collaborative. And finally, don’t underestimate the value of passion and a positive attitude - IBM is very supportive of people who show motivation and a strong willingness to learn.
