Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role as a leakage techncian consists of me going into different areas within our region to pinpoint leaks and arrange for repairs to be made. I use various types of equipment to narrow down search areas for leakage and also quantify valumes of leaks.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

My programme was very enjoyale. The work I did on site gave me good hands on knowledge to get me where I am today. On the other hand, the collegs work had a good mix of practical and classroom learning. I always had support when needed.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I came in with no knowledge on the water industry at all. I now feel confident in my ability to do my job compitently and also have a good understanding on the water industry and all the different departments within water and sewerage companies.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

I feel as though the course was structured well. However the one thing I would change would've been the specific training relevant for my role. This is because my role specific training was taught at the start of my second year when it would've made more sense for it to be at the beginning of my first year.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive an enormous ammount of support from my employer.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My support from the training provider was good. The only improvemet for me would've been if they had more staff so that marking assignments and giving feedback was done more efficiently. It got to a point where it felt like one assessor was in charge of too many apprentices and they had a big build up of work to mark, delaying our work from being checked.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My qualification helps me perform better in my role as i have a clear understanding of what to do and it really boosted my confidence
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

I have heard of other departments doing sports activities but not in my team sppecifically. I would enjoy something like this.
