I am now a qualified HGV technician. I service and repair trucks and trailers, and also work on cars and vans whenever needed.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

Some days are better than others, it's a hard job. However when given the time it can be a really rewarding industry to get into. Some people can be really encouraging and helpful, but some can be rude due to you not having the experience or knowledge.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes I have definitely learnt new skills since I have started. There is a lot to learn, we are constantly learning everyday in the workshop.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

It was easy to follow on my end. We got sent to Bristol for block release, so we stayed there for a work week about 7 times a year. All expenses paid by the company of course which was great.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Some gave more support than others. Some were great and they definitely deserve credit! However, some had to be reminded constantly and I personally received a lot of failed promises unfortunately
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

S and B automotive academy was amazing! They gave us so much support and our tutor was such a nice person which made the experience so much better!
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

They thought us mainly the theory side of things, but we did get some workshop time. We learnt most of our role in the workshop at our depot just because it's so hands on.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Would you recommend Nrg Riverside to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Decent salary, no weekend work, set shifts every week and optional overtime.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Nrg Riverside?
I'm not sure to be honest. It would just be the standard advice for any job really.
