Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
My role was to support the other analysts across a range of M&A and debt deals. I was on four live projects and also complete ad-hoc work. Daily responsibilities varied depending on the type of deal and stage in the process, such as creating slides for IMs, working with data in Excel, researching investors and competitors and carrying out admin tasks to support the process management of the projects.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
As an intern I was provided with an unparalleled level of responsibility, in the type of work carried out and in interactions with clients.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
I have improved my PowerPoint and Excel skills significantly, such as the different short cuts. In addition, I have greatly expanded my financial knowledge, especially when working on comps. The training at the beginning was also useful for learning the basics of accounting and valuation.

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I really enjoyed the whole experience, I felt like a part of the team and experienced an unmatched learning curve. In addition, all the intern events organized by HR or team socials were also a great opportunity to network and have fun.
