Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role involves supporting early careers recruitment within the 4Skills team. We seek talent from everywhere, no matter the background or experience, and we aim to provide information and resources to those who want to enter the media industry. I was responsbile for adminsitration of our key projects such as apprenticeships and the Production Training Scheme as well as porviding outreach through our social media platforms.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

The programme has been a great experience. I think what separates it from others is the amount of support you are provided from day one as well as the variety of different experiences on offer.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

My communication and public speaking skills have greatly developed. While I saw these as strengths, the opportunity to be placed in multiple different environments enabled me to adapt and grow with my confidence.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is thoroughly structured. The learning element allows you to build knowledge through supported session with your tutor, and your day-to-day role enables you to find the balance of applying this knowledge directly into the workplace.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I received lots of support throughout my apprenticeship. Having weekly catch-ups and 1-1 sessions to support me with useful feedback as well as recognition for my work made me feel supported.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The support is always there. You have 1-1 tutor sessions to discuss work as well as being able to have examples of frameworks and structures to enable you to get the distinction grade. My tutor was amazing and continued to support us all through the programme.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I believe their use of resources and breaking down complex information supports you to perform better in your role. You are able to draw information that you can apply to your day to day role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are social groups that welcome anyone and have a range of different societies. Additionally, there are exclusive screenings within our cinema and the chance to win tickets for exclusive premieres.
We also have quarterly socials where you can connect and network with all employees at Channel 4.

Why?
The amount of support and variety within Channel 4 as well as the program is exceptional. You always feel that you are in a position to be successful and succeed.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Channel 4?
Really focus on your passions and interests towards the media industry as well as TV. It's important to show your passions and interests will make you a motivated and successful individual as well as use real-world examples of how your experience or skills relate to the role you are applying for.
