Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

4/5
My role is very varied which reflects the nature of production management. I work on a small team which supports several other teams to make schedules, organise shoots, complete finance paperwork and other admin tasks. I get to go on shoots as a runner, and shadow lots of other roles within the company.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

5/5
My learning side of my apprenticeship is great. The sessions are really interesting with assignments that are useful to applying this knowledge to my everyday work, and a small cohort means we can all communicate and ask questions.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

4/5
I have been able to translate my existing skills into the area of tv and digital production and have been given lots of responsibility for tasks.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

5/5
My programme is well structured with each module coving an element of the job and two months to complete each task which is useful in production where my workload varies massively week to week.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

4/5
I have plenty of people to turn to when I need support including my line manager, team leader, the 4Skills team who look after the apprentices and my peers.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

5/5
My employer makes sure I have time to complete my assignments and line manager is happy to help support me when I need input or connections to complete tasks.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

5/5
My qualification teaches me about the industry standard of production management for TV while my role is in digital production, meaning both together are giving me well rounded knowledge and experience.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

4/5
Channel 4 has employee groups which hold events and opportunities for the apprentices to meet up and share our experiences.
