Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
Although I am officially a Consulting Digital and Technology Apprentice, my day‑to‑day work is much more focused on project management. I spend much of my time helping to coordinate the team, updating and formatting documents, and supporting ongoing work. The learning opportunities have been great, and being early in my role has given me the chance to upskill and explore different areas while I continue to grow into my position.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I enjoy all elements of it! I work in a great team and all learning opportunities have been great to get stuck into the role.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I don't have a particularly technical background when it comes to programming, so most of the hard skills I am learning are being developed within this role.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Very good so far. I have just completed my first week of uni and everything was well communicated and structured, from now on I will be studying one day a week and from everything I have heard this routine works well.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
So far I have received great support and I know where to look and who to contact if I needed any further support.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend IBM to a friend?
Yes
Why?
This company offers strong learning and development opportunities that help you build skills quickly and you get real responsibility early on, with support from experienced colleagues. I've also gives you exposure to different parts of the business, which helps you figure out what you enjoy.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to IBM?
I would say show curiosity and willingness to learn rather than trying to look like you know everything already. To research the company and the role so you can speak confidently about why it’s a good fit for you. And most importantly, don’t overthink it! From my experience, employers are looking for a good attitude.
