Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

As a Resourcing Advisor, I support managers across the organisation with end‑to‑end recruitment. This includes running recruitment campaigns, coordinating shortlisting, interviews, wash up meetings and managing candidate communications. I also provide advice on fair, inclusive, and compliant recruitment practices, helping ensure the organisation attracts and selects the right talent.
My apprenticeship is the CIPD Level 5 supports my work by strengthening my ability to manage employment relationships, apply evidence‑based recruitment practices, and support workforce planning and talent management. It also develops my professional and ethical judgement and reinforces my advisory role in influencing managers and improving recruitment processes.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I’ve really enjoyed completing the CIPD Level 5 as it has helped me better understand the theory behind the work I do day to day and given me more confidence in my role as a Resourcing Advisor. While balancing the workload alongside a busy role can be challenging at times, the learning has been valuable and relevant, making the time commitment worthwhile.

Through my role and completion of the CIPD Level 5, I have developed a range of key skills. These include managing employment relationships more confidently, particularly when handling difficult conversations and providing constructive feedback. In addition, I have improved my professional judgement and ethical decision‑making, ensuring fairness, inclusivity, and compliance in recruitment. Finally, I have built stronger stakeholder management and influencing skills through advising managers.

The programme is well structure with all my courses, workshops and deadlines provided to me well in advance, so I can plan appropriately.
