Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
Now in my third year, I have experienced a few different roles - from working as a Business Analyst to create chatbots, to working with data to find trends/patterns and now working on financial aspects of a project. Currently I am involved in all financial aspects - from invoicing monthly, to managing contracts, and working with clients.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
Although there have been slow times, I believe I have worked on a lot of different things that have pushed me and my skills. I have also always been supported by managers/senior executives at the company, who take a genuine interest in degree-apprenticeships.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
From technical skills with industry/internal technologies, using languages such as Java and C, to soft skills that have developed through working closely with partners/clients.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
In terms of university, there is a clear structure - the course is split into multiple 6 week modules over three years. In terms of organizational work it is what you make of it - it is entirely on to you to network and connect with people to find roles, and experience different areas of the business, which works for some but not all.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
As mentioned, managers on projects as well as senior executives such as partners and account executives, are all genuinely interested in degree-apprenticeships, and with those that I have interacted with, they have given good career advice, as well as support on a day-to-day basis with tasks.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
There is support available - every module there is the course leader who you can talk to anytime, and in my experience has always been very helpful. They also do lectures online, that are posted as videos after, that explain key concepts and assignments. Throughout the course we also have tripartite reviews with university managers to make sure we are on track.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
There have been several modules that have deepened my understanding of either my role, the business or the industry at large. Recently, for example, we had a university module, 'Customer Relationship Lifecycle Management', that explained each step of the customer lifecycle and what we should do, as both a business and individual, at each stage.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There are several society/teams internally. I am part of UNITE - an initiative aimed at organizing events with business partners, as well as the Asian BRG team that organises events celebrating Asian culture.

Understand IBM core values - such as having a growth-mindset - and reference examples in the past where you have demonstrated those values.
