Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
4 Days a week are spent working with the client like a regular performance tester. 1 Day of the week is a dedicated learning day where I complete mandatory training and write in my portfolio
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
Great bunch of people, great culture, fun work environment. Upper management genuinely care about my well being

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
There's lots of time dedicated solely to learning and there's a lot of personal freedom when it comes to choosing what I learn. In the 6 months I've been in this role I've learnt a wide range of skills from new coding languages and operating systems to quantitative and qualitative analysis

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
Very well structured, there's normally one dedicated day a week solely for learning and apprenticeship related work which makes planning my work fairly easy
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
There are always multiple people I can reach out to for both learning and well being related support. Everyone is always very welcoming and I'm never made to feel like an inconvenience when someone takes time to help me
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I have a manager that I can reach out to at any time for support and they are always very helpful
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
The mandatory training that I complete is very relevant to most workplaces (things like communication lessons)
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are frequent events at a variety of locations in the country. There are lots of communities hosted by fellow employees to meet with other people with the same goals, culture, or interests

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend IBM to a friend?
Yes
Why?
It's a very honest and open culture. It really feels like they practice what they preach here. They're very accommodating to people's unique needs and understanding of people's differences.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to IBM?
The application will feel longer than most places, but it's worth it as it clearly does a good job in screening for the right applicants. Once you start working here you realise almost everyone is a pleasure to have in the workplace
