My role as a Business Support Administrator involves providing an essential administrative and operational support to ensure the smooth and efficient running of my service area. My role acts as a central point of coordination, supporting managers, teams, and stakeholders by handling day to day business processes, documentation, and communication.
My key responsibilities on a daily basis are as follows:
• Providing comprehensive administrative support to managers and teams
• Managing diaries, meetings, agendas, and taking accurate minutes
• Handling correspondence, emails, and telephone enquiries professionally
• Maintaining accurate records, databases, and filing systems
• Supporting finance-related processes such as invoicing, purchase orders, and expenses
• Preparing reports, and other business documents
• Coordinating office resources, systems, and procedures
• Ensuring compliance with organisational policies, data protection, and confidentiality requirements
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I thoroughly enjoy the programme and find that learning alongside my role enables me to deepen my understanding and expand my knowledge in a practical way. However, managing this alongside a busy work schedule can be challenging, so strong time‑management skills are key to balancing all commitments.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

As a Business Support Administrator, I have developed strong organisational, communication, and time management skills, along with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. I am experienced in meeting and diary management, document preparation, record keeping, and using IT systems such as Microsoft Office while working effectively in a busy environment.

The organisation supports staff wellbeing by offering extracurricular activities, including walks in the park and wellbeing seminars, which I have I have participated in.
