Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
Whilst completing the apprenticeship, I have been carrying out service development duties for the Children and Young People's Commissioning Team. This involves analysing current services using performance data and feedback, supporting redesign, co-production with stakeholders and preparing reports with recommendations. The Level 4 Project Management apprenticeship has taught me how to best analyse ways that these tasks can feed into a project management plan, as well as documents and approaches to support new ventures.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I feel that I am well supported to apply my learning to my job role. I am enjoying finding new ways of improving my current practice,

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I feel that I can better analyse and mitigate the risks of an upcoming project, have developed new ways to support teams through times of change and have better stakeholder management skills.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
I feel that Heart of England prepared me well for the commencement of the course, though the day courses could possibly have been ordered more sequentially. There were sometimes courses too close in succession to process the learning, and too much content in each course support the embedding of knowledge. Half day courses may have been more effective. However, the structure of meetings and assignments arranged by my educator have been very helpful.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I have been supported at all points of the course and I feel that my managers have a real desire for me to succeed. They have asked what I felt I needed to begin the course, have been given ample time to complete tasks and have been given opportunities to apply my learning. My manager has arranged opportunities for shadowing and feedback.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
In recent months, my educator has been so helpful with revision of topics. She has shared materials and podcasts to help break topics down and has asked what topics I would like further support with.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
There have been some great opportunities for applying my learning to new commissioning projects. My next steps are to apply some of the document templates into regular practice.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Our workplace has many EDI groups that arrange celebrations for all to participate in, as well as support groups for those going through menopause. There is a choir held on Wednesdays, sports and walking groups at different points in the year. We are given two paid days a year to support volunteering projects in the city.
