Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role was focused on council tax in the revenues department, updating council tax accounts and bringing revenue into the council. There were various tasks to complete day to day and also contacting customers via phone, letter and emails.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoyed the programme, it was very well laid out which helped me keep on top of my course work alongside the day job. I would consider completing a higher level apprenticeship.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I had no prior background experience or knowledge coming into the role so i have developed a lot of knowledge by also completing the apprenticeship as i understand the legal background why we do what we do. The main skill i have developed is problem solving as certain queries or things we come across aren't usual so we have to problem solve a lot.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Very organised. I was allocated 1 day out of the working week to complete my course work.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

I had lots of support, i had catch ups every so often to talk about any concerns or areas for support and i also had meetings with my tutor and my manager also.
